Kaiji's one of my favorites. It's not for everyone. Expect occasional slow pacing.

If you're just interested in the premise to Kaiji, go for it. If you're interested in FKMT (Fukumoto's) works in general, Tobaku Haoden Zero is like an entry-level Kaiji.
>>
Was one of the first series I watched, and I'm rewatching it now. It's almost as good now as when I first saw it, but some of the things they say feel pretty goofy.
>>
>>133744663
I love it, it's one of my favorite animus. Although, it can get a bit silly at times in the mostly-realistic setting they conjure up, but besides that it's great.

Be sure to read Ten and Kurosawa
>>
/a/ went crazy for it while it was airing and is still a fav. I don't think there is many people here who didn't like it.
>>
>>133744663
Amazing series and 100% worth it. I had to take breaks between S1 and S2 because it was so intense it drained me.

My only real complain is S2 drags a bit once a certain arc arrives.
>>
>>133744663
Honestly worth watching the whole thing just for the end of S2. There are some parts that are slow or tiring but I still enjoyed it a lot, and I rarely see actual hate for it.
>>
How is Kurosawa 2 going? Did he get laid yet?

>>
>>133744663
It's great, watch it
>>
>>133746227
My favorite arc was the 45ers. When he was going to grab the fake dice I was seriously on the edge of my seat, that shit was intense
>>
It's an amazing intense thriller.

Watch it.
>>
>>133744663
It was great watching it while I was unemployed and out of college. Very encouraging shit.
>>
>>133747283
Don't spoil that kind of stuff. asshole, OP is asking if it's worth watching and you just spoiled one of the most intense scenes ever.

And I agree with you, that and Tonegawa's monologues are the best parts of the whole series
>>
>>133747328
Dropped.
>>
>>133744663
I hate it.
>>
>>133745618
S2 was literally endless ejaculation
I know that it must have been a pain for those who were watching this when it was airing, but I binge watched it and I didn't feel that it dragged on one bit
>>
It's slow. It can be repetitive, but it's one I think everyone who likes anime can enjoy and OP should watch it. Also, without spoiling anything, I'll say that it ends perfectly.

Rinse and repeat for the remainder of the season. There was nothing orgasmic about it.

>tfw Kaiji beating ass in part 3 will never be animated
>>
>>133750382
But isn't that essentialy the essence of what makes Kaiji good?

The struggle to overcome the problems he is facing, i,e., the balls not going in, by using his own ingenuity, luck and the help of others.

It sounds shit when you simplfy it like that, and S2 definitely had pacing issues, but it was still very solid.
>>
>>133750382
The same point can be said for all of his gambles

It isn't about winning, it's about the ride

FKMT is pretty notorious for that, just look at Akagi which covered a single tile pick in one chapter.

Yes, it took Washizu one chapter to pick a tile from the pond
>>
>>133750518
> Akagi
Is that worth watching also?
>>
>Beginning of S2
>Kaiji stuck in that hellhole
>Trying to faithfully save up money while everyone is enticing him with snacks, beer, meat
Man, fuck that place. I can't even blame the guy for breaking and giving in.
>>
>>133745618
I know that feeling, the only anime I have ever watched where my hands were sweating near constantly.

I wished the 2nd arc in season 2 was half as long though, it was a stretch for me.
>>
>>133750562
Actually, why not find out yourself? You are encouraged to lurk the board before posting, you should be able to find answers to most of your questons that way, once you have been here for a while, you'll be pretty well adjusted to /a/, and can start contributing

Until then, keep the participation to a minimum

What I can say, is that the anime is different, so give it 3-5 episodes, that should be enough
>>
>>133750518
They have been drawing their starting hands for 7 chapters now. This pacing is fucking ridiculous.
>>
>>133750613
Speaking of which, isn't it almost ending? Last time I checked, Washizu was in 'hell'.
>>

I think there's going to be more after Washizu
>>
>>133744663
It was really good, I enjoyed it, season 1 at least.
I enjoyed the earlier arcs than the later ones though.
I dropped season 2 part way through the Pachinko arc, fuck that shit and it's magnetic beer cans.

>>
>>133750604
Probably my favourite part, it makes you really feel for Kaiji and makes the comeback fantastic.

E-Card and Rock-Paper-Scissors were the best game though
>>
>any tsumo, even the lowest one, will win you the game
>around 600 million is at stake here, not to mention your life
>Washizu goes for kokushi musou because he got a good starting hand
>Akagi gets all of his win-titles onto his hand because fuck you

I know this is supposed to tell you a few things about Washizu, but come the fuck on. This is a dumb move.
>>
>>133750631
He led humans to revolt against the demons in hell, was too self-absorbed to be judged by an Enma, then bitchslapped him and got out of hell through the Fuji mountain by becoming a giant Washizu-kaiju
>>
>>133744663
You should definitely watch it. I watched it on a whim but I actually got some good life lessons out of it. There were times where shit got too real that it made me look at myself and my own life. It's rare for an anime to have that effect.

Kaiji is a loser but he's a lovable one. You'll genuinely root for him.

This chapters was really good. I can't understand how Ichikawa knew that Hiro dropped a 2-man.
The only thing I could think of is that Ichikawa knows the order of the tiles in the wall, but then he would have known what kind of hand Hiro had.
Is Ichikawa faking that his blind or what? I geuss we will found out in the next chapter.
