I'm curious about Arima's relationship with Haise, early on in the series we saw them sparring on the tabletop and Arima complimented Haise in relatively short order after beating him.
It was very different from the supposed flashback scene of Haise fighting Arima- which I'm starting to suspect was a hallucination.

I was saying that he would investigate his past without knowing how horrible it was. He also has a responsibility as an investigator to check anything he thinks might be linked to a ghoul and he knows he had known plenty of ghouls.

You can't really compare that to mimicking a person's personality who you think you've eaten. Those things aren't linked to any fear but they're just internalised fighting techniques. I was just rereading the Eto/Ui fight and he was actually hanging with her until she resorted to fucking him over from long range. He actually dodged all her regular attacks and he was getting some of his own hits in. A shield would have come in handy in this situation.
