Either way, it's still pretty safe. A lot of eggs are pasteurized now, making them completely safe to consume raw. How do you think mayonnaise/custard/gelato is made? And even if the eggs are unpasteurized, the risk of actually contracting salmonella is incredibly low. You could even eggs yourself with water and a thermometer.

If you nuke left over rice from the fridge it works also. Nuke the rice in a microwave then put the egg on the top. And for people who are still afraid of getting the salmonella, after mixing the egg and rice, you can nuke it in the microwave a bit to cook the egg a little bit more.
