If I'm counting right this should complete the chapter list for v71. I guess we all know what the title will be, but do who do you think will get the cover? I could see it being any of Shunsui, Nanao, Lille, or Katen. Or I could be way off base and instead of The Theatre Suicide the volume could be Baby Hold Your Hand. But I don't think this fight will go on long enough to push the title into v72.

Being held back is common. And there has never been any official statements on how long the ordinary curriculum is. My guess is that the academy students are spares and they are promoted as slots open up, or if they are extremely gifted.

Yeah, you're right. Gin and Hitsugaya were both recruited after just one year in the academy. The previous record was held by Kaien who graduated after 5 years. Knowing Isshin, Kaien probably slacked off too.
