Probably the best way to learn other person's style is trying to copy some of their drawings. But just copying ussually results in something bland, drawing styles are very personal. You should try to develop your own style, and just take inspiration from Ito.

Machines basically drilled holes into the earth, iserted gems, and incubated them until they were full mature gems i.e. humanoids with powers. When they emerge, it's from holes on the wall similar to that one Ito story.
