I find it funny how the designs changed as the series progressed.

That resetting thing gets implied heavily throughout. During the first fight with that mysterious girl who attacked Touta, and had to have Santa, Kirie and Kuromaru save him. There was a scene where Kirie was dodging all of her attacks with a bored look on her face and Santa pointing out she had the eyes of a frustrated gamer who spent the entire night trying to beat a difficult boss.
And again during Dana's training where Kirie had to read a shitload of books in a week. Only way she could have done that was to kill her self on the night of Day 6
