I will admit that Zero was by no means a terrible anime. It wasn't great but watchable, although it was a LOT of wasted potential. And all the pseudo epic crap made it difficult to take it any way seriously. It takes itself seriously, that much is clear, but if you can really take it seriously then you gotta have some kind of mental deficiency. Zero is probably the best thing in the world if you are 15. It has just the right amount of edge and chuuni delusion fuel that you cannot help but like it. After all, it's a bunch of "badass" heroes from different legends fighting each other.
F/SN doesn't take itself seriously and just for that, I have way less trouble actually enjoying it. It's a fun battle shounen in an interesting setting.
