I think they mucked up coming up with all the theming. Pierrot was a theatre reference and Joker felt like he should be part of an evil circus, while the trio was the more obvious storybook theme. I think it just wasn't particularly well thought out to fit all together nicely is all. Maybe they were all too tired after doing that so tightly in Suite.

Random seasons is fine. You'll probably want to watch Yes5 before GoGo, for what may seem like obvious reasons, but plot isn't actually one of them.
It's a little easier to see the callbacks/tributes to old seasons if you watch in chronological, but that's not a huge deal. The important thing is that you're having fun.

Maho Girls Precure 01 - Mitsukeyou! Kiseki wo Sagaseru Maho!
Maho and Kiseki are two girls of the Occult Research Club in Mahougawa Joshi Middle School. They love looking for supernatural beings around their city. From UFO, UMA, Chupacabra, Loch Ness, they fill their daily life with adventures looking for the otherworldly, things that no one has ever seen before. Of course, no one really paid attention to them and their activities.
It all goes well, until one day, Maho barges in to their club room for her usual adventure, to find no one is waiting for her there! Oh no, Kiseki has disappeared!
The flustered middle schooler finds all around the city to found no one. In fact, the reverse is what's happening. She was found by another being.
In front of the tired Maho, an owl and a black cat floats. They introduces themselves as fairies Minerva and Cait Sith, and Maho is the only one who can help them.
Turns out, in ancient times the world was full with magical, fantastic creatures. But an evil witch cursed them and make them disappear from human eyes. The creatures who now can talk and interact with no one sometimes go berserk and cause small disasters. These creatures who is ignored by the world gets the nickname Phantomushi.
Then, Maho learnt that Kiseki herself has turned into a Phantomushi. With the help of Dow-Sing Mic, Maho transforms into legendary warrior Precure, the one who will find you even if the world has ignored you.
Remember, even if there's no one, Maho and Kiseki is around!
