I never got the first part. I've read that volume 5 times now, and every damn time the extra tea cup part is mentioned during the Lakyus scene, while the scene where Reneer didn't answer the door doesn't mention anything about teacups at all.
I am quite confident in this because I actually tried looking it up specifically for this example but failed to find it. That said the rest is all correct.

I'm not talking about convincing the nobles, but Raeven. The Kingdom's strongest warrior just encountered a giant 3 meter tall demon minion that belonged to a difficulty 200 demon and had to team up with countless adventurers just to wound it enough to force it to flee.
Wouldn't you as Marquis Raeven trust this guy's gut instinct when he says "Yeah, I think Ainz is scarier than that giant fucker we almost got wiped out by. I was practically shitting my pants when he suggested he was gonna resist by force."
The other 5 nobles don't matter to what I'm saying. Fuck their armies. It's mostly how Raeven didn't invest more resources into his army's survival. He could have opened up his fat wallet and hired a bunch of magic casters just for the sake of using those floating boards and flying the hell away with his orichalcum party. Granted the goats probably still would have caught them but that's about as best as Raeven could manage.
Course if Gazef was so retarded and inarticulate he couldn't even convince Raeven because he kept doubting himself that's another matter. But I think if we put Brain in the position of Gazef and Sebas in the position of Ainz, Brain would sperg out ten fold and go sell off his shit to buy some sleipnirs to run away with for him and Climb. But Marquis Raeven did trust him. It's just that the Empire declared war on the Kingdom, so backing out is not an option at all. The Empire declaring war is the one thing that can unite the entire Kingdom and anyone who backs out is going to be labelled a traitor, the same way the lizardmen alliance in v4 would kill any tribe that didn't join them.
So at this point fighting is inevitable. Raeven could not imagine Ainz would be so powerful that an army of 250k would lose to him and Gazef could not describe Ainz's power well enough for him to come to that conclusion. Remember, even to Raeven, Ainz is just "some guy the Kingdom is using as a casus belli".
Nobody knows Ainz's true power. Not even Raeven or Jircniv or Renner. It's like expecting a rabbit to know that humans can drop a nuke on it.

They feel that it is more productive to circlejerk and punch each other in the face and generally make the Kingdom more and more shit when the Theocracy has at least twelve equivalents to your top warrior and the Empire is hacking away at your borders with minimal losses and is instituting wide reforms
