One day, it I got winded a little easier than usual. A few days later, I lost my appetite.
The next day, I got a bad fever. Then I threw up. And I coughed a lot. And I was really tired.

A 38 year old person shouldn't really have severe pneumonia with no underlying cause, it shouldn't last that long and it should respond well to treatment. Having pneumonia as some sort of long-lasting or recurrent health problem means that something is wrong at a deeper level.
