I'd like a middle ground between a permanent archive and no archiving at all. Make it six months, a year at most. Enough to grab reasonably relevant material from the past before it's gone forever.
Personally, I used it to make image dumps for certain series and just post the link to it, in order to avoid redundant dumping.
