Hey /a/, it's that time again, time for the SciADV manga corner.
The title this time is a Robotics;Notes derivative, the Unpublished Memoirs of Senomiya Misaki.
This should be read after you've read/watched the original Robotics;Notes, as it expands on the past of particular characters.
It's the fifth and final chapter, and sits at 62 pages. I hope you'll stick around to see shit go down.
As always, there'll be a link at the end for those of you that are interested

Oh right, if anyone ends up coming in here and reading it. A bump every so often would be appreciated since this is a long chapter and OPs can't bump their own threads nowadays.
Well shit, you're quite fast Steiner. If only Pandora release were this quick.

It's weird, I just wanted to push this out faster even though the density of this chapter alone is the equivalent of 2-3 Pandora chapters.
>>124652779If only pandora was 62 pages per chapter too.

Mitchie makes his manga debut!
Despite appearing pretty clearly on the front cover, he only appears briefly in the final chapter.
>>124653044
Alas, we know how it ends.
>>124653099

This manga uses "Robo-Ban" rather than "Robo-One". I guess the usage rights only covered the VN and the anime.

I need more seductive Mizuka in my life, but it only lasts a single page.
>>124653207

I wish this was the end of the story.
It would be happier this way.

I hope you're ready for a whole ton of exposition absent from the anime.

Airi has pretty sad story.
Sick kid that was abandoned by her parents.

And that's a wrap! I hope you enjoyed this insight into Misaki's past and Kimijima's character, which was largely glossed over/skipped by the anime. Also Airi's backstory, so that was neat as well.
Here's a link for anyone that may have wanted it:

Until next time, which will probably be a Pandora chapter next week or late this week.
>>124654067
The bottom right is Aki, correct? Who's he referring to in the bottom left though? I don't remember someone like this in the anime. Maybe my memory's just bad.
Thanks for the translation, Steiner. Definitely sheds a whole lot more light on Kimijima than the anime. Is it mentioned in the VN that he was behind literally everyone's problems like this? Or is it just in this manga?
>>124654506
The bottom right is Junna, the karate girl. Doc is her grandpa and she had her accident in his workshop, which is why he became fearful of accidents and shut down his shop. The boy in the bottom left is shown in the first chapter as attacking people in a shopping mall with "someone" looming over him.
>>124654506
Oh, to answer your second question. The VN does go into stuff like this, yeah. Subaru's father began to desperately fear his son leaving him and the family fishing business thanks to seeds of doubt planted in his mind by Kimijima.
>>124654594
Oh, I see. I was just thrown off because he mentioned Jun's grandpa and Jun separately. I also thought the boy with the knife might've been an actual character, but Kai and Subaru didn't fit. Strange.
>>124654633
Man, I guess the anime is a little rough around the edges. I guess it gets points for being a bit happier at least?
Thanks again for the translation, Steiner. I actually read through the 4 chapters after you made this thread just to catch up and finish this. Gives some good backstory for people that can't read the VN and have only the anime to go off of. Poor Airi. Poor Misaki. Poor everyone, really.
>>124654933
Yeah, Kimijima was a really morbid villain, and his Amadeus AI made for a good antagonist in the VN. The anime just kind of chopped things and cut certain character aspects like Kou's paedophillia and depravity or how Kai was clinically depressed.
It's a shame the manga ends where it does, right before the part where Misaki ends up killing him, but that's just one of those things.
But that's one of the reasons I translate the side material, they often give insight that anime adaptations skim over.
>>124652810
Didn't Epigraph had like 30 pages per chapter?
Why there's less in Pandora? And I really miss Yoshida Tadasu's artstyle.
Wish they expanded on him like this in the anime.
Thank you Steiner.
>>124652601
>thanks to seeds of doubt planted in his mind by Kimijima.
Niggah had way too much free time.
What's up with MAL saying this has 8 chapters? I'm pretty sure you said something about being confused and rechecking a few times that there were only 5 because of that as well.
>>124655593
>And I really miss Yoshida Tadasu's artstyle.
You are not alone, I feel that overall quality has fallen, even the pacing, though it's still the best side project from SciAdv.
>>124653207
>>124653247
I have to admit that I was really sad when Mizu died because Mitchie sounded like a bro and that he loved her.

>>124657225
MAL is wrong, like their Epigraph entry.
There are only 5 chapters in the Misaki manga.
>>124657744
Yeah in the VN there's a whole thing with him crying at her funeral and dumping out a bottle of booze into the ocean for her.
>>124655053
>Kai was clinically depressed
Was this cut out of the anime entirely?
>>124659450
Pretty much, they didn't mention his crushed childhood dream or why he was so apathetic at all.
>>124654449
Damn, I was hoping to see Misaki killing Kimijima.
Thanks again, Steiner!
>>124661083
Yeah, I was hoping that it would've gone that far as well, but the source material covered it decently enough so I suppose it wasn't necessary.
>>124658809
Do you have any CGs of the robotics club in Misa's time?
>>124662731
Not exactly, but there are a good few featuring young Misa. Here's the only one with young Mitchie, there aren't any with young Mizuka.
I think I prefer Misaki's high school design to her adult one.
>>124664039
Guess it's a matter of personal taste, I don't really like the hair that much.
How about techno Misaki.
>>124664235
I like HUG Misaki better than Business Misaki, that's for sure.
>>124664235
That's a pretty erotic bodysuit. But I don't find Misa very attractive.

Horrible Engrish as usual.

Thanks Steiner! And get working on Yua's route, the translation is just over 75% done now and at the rate Winkel is going I bet you guys can have it done by mid June or something.
>>124652601
Read everything now.
Really nice for the only-animefags like me.
Even better reading the last chapter with the bad ending theme playing.
Thanks Steiner!
