You got more of Shirou's characterization, his relationship with Rin advanced, they teamed up with Lancer, info on Gil was given, particularly adding hints to his bigger plans, some nice stuff with Kuzuki and Archer that hinted at the larger message of the show, stuff with the pendant and Shirou was talked about, and it all wrapped up with setting up for a ton of action next episode.
