Don't you hate it when a manga ends rather open ended./a/?
>>124528665
More than anything.
But nips are afraid of actual endings.
I have come to accept the fact that I would rather have an "okay" open ended ending than a conclusive shit ending.
Someone should go back and color this manga. I mean, this piece of fanart from the hotsprings chapter looks really good, it's like the original author colored it.

Everyone is. That's pretty much the basis of religion.
>>124528665
To be fair, the manga did complete Mai's character arc by having her accept herself as she is and her feelings for Taro, as well as overcoming the paranoid mentality her father had tried to instill in her and learning to open herself to others. So I'd say that it did feel complete in that respect since Mai's character arc was really the foundation of Remix Heart. I bet that her overall story will be concluded in the next game.

The original illustrator did do the designs for the game.
Fap fap fap I LOVE YOU LADY MAI
>>124528829
This.
Open end isn't that bad, way better than the writer taking a giant shit on his manga in the last few chapters like in so many series I've read.
>>124528665
So used to shit endings that I don't give it a second thought. Ambiguous non-endings are probably superior because at least the author has less chance of pissing their entire manga up the wall.
The open end is a blight of good writing, a sign that you didn't have any ideas on how to actually close your series while also giving you leeway to continue if your editor asks to do so.
Generally, the lowest hacks resort to it, which is why so much anime/manga end up using the open end, since Japan mostly has shit writers.
>>124531668
Except nips do shit towards a series end and then, adding salt into the injury left it open. See Kaminomi for example.
Open endings are always shit in romance stories. Zero exceptions.
They're often shit in other genres as well, but they have the possibility of being decent.

Shiori please.

What? All religions have at least some sort of definitive ending or goal to be achieved.
Unless you mean shinto, which is more of a primitive kind of mysticism than an actual religion.
I finally get to post this.
>>124531926
He probably refers to the concept of the immortality of the soul (in Abrahamic religions) or reincarnation (in dharmic religions).
>>124532000
I would have thought that was THE ending, perfection or enlightenment. Current human life is the path.
But no matter, more Mai.
Very little fanart,
>>124530882
I've tried coloring it. Screentone is just too annoying to remove and I hate leaving it in. Furthermore, the scans aren't as crisp as they could be (because they're ebook scans).
If you just use linear burn/color burn/multiply layers in a really half-assed way and don't mind the finished product looking dirty it'd be easy to do, but coloring it well is a different matter.
>>124532216
And thank god for that.
>>124531728
>The open end is a blight of good writing
It can be good (rarely) if it leaves the audience thinking about what you want to think about. I've maybe seen it used correctly onece in manga, and I can't remember were so I might be imagining it.
>>124532148
They do promise a continued existence after death though.
>>124531728
Except that in this case the story does have a possibility of being continued, in both manga and video game form. No point in burning any bridges, especially in the BlazBlue universe.
>>124532216
At least Mai has gotten a bunch of new fanart on Pixiv and Twitter with the release of BBCPE. It's nice to see that her inclusion in the games managed to increase her popularity.
>>124532276
u wot m8
>>124532321
Isn't "happily ever after" an ending?
Mai still needs to meet Celica.
>>124532289
>if it leaves the audience thinking about what you want to think about
But that's why it sucks. Why do you think harems never have an ending, why do you think shonen series never 'end'? It's not an ending that makes you think, it never is.
The reason why it's never definite is so the pathetic otaku can keep masturbating over the thought of their waifu having 'won' forever, since there's never going to be a conclusion, it's so no matter what happened the cash cow can be milked some more.
I know it's how the medium works so it's not worth getting angry over, but goddamn, I like anime and manga, and it's such a pity that market law dictates no one gets to have a decent ending outside of a few seinen series.
>>124532403
You can have an ending without it being a shitty open end even if you want to continue things. Plenty of series manage to make a finale that makes it so the series would be fine ending there AND gives space to continue in case a second season is requested.
The open end pretty much means "Dunno if the publisher will want more, but I'm done with this shit. So long, suckers!"
>>124532456
I suppose so. Though it does not have the finality of oblivion.
By god are they large.
>>124532626
Bigger than those of all her friends.
It does make some of them pretty jealous.
>>124532000
>dharmic religions
Not always true, they strive to be enlightened/achieve nirvana to escape samsara, the endless cycle of rebirth. Not entirely sure what happens after since I haven't read Buddhist scriptures, I guess their soul is destroyed or something and they're free from eternal torment.
Not nearly as large as Celica's moms
>>124532897
>living is suffering is the basis of Buddhism
never though of them like that
How do I become Mai?
>>124532897
It may involve the extinction of the self, but it result in the soul either uniting with the Divine or attainment of Buddhahood.
>>124533061
But that pretty much is the first of the Four Noble Truths.
Is this an orgy?
>>124533135
You need to find the appropriate grimoire.
>>124532955
They seem to me to be slightly smaller than Mai's.
>>124533061
>>124533207
It really depends on the branch of buddhism. Most would tell you that living by itself isn't in any way suffering, it's "desire" that brings pain, so you should strive to be free of desire and thus be free of suffering.
Also
>When the Tesshu, a master of Zen, calligraphy and swordsmanship, was a young man he called on the Zen master Dokuon. Wishing to impress Dokuon he said, “The mind, the Buddha, and all sentient beings after all do not exist. The true nature of phenomenon is emptiness. There is no realisation, no delusion, no sagacity, no mediocrity, nothing to give and nothing to receive.
>Dokuon promptly hit him with a bamboo stick. Tesshu became quite furious.
>Dokuon said quietly: “If nothing exists, where did this anger come from?”
>>124531913
That thought that there will never be a BlazBlue dating sim...
>>124533607
Well yes, but eliminating all desires and attaining nirvana within one's lifetime to be able to live without suffering is exceptionally difficult. According to Buddhism pretty much everyone lives with suffering.
>>124533680
That gag ending is so weird, Out of all three of them they pick Noel to be Ragna's girlfriend? I thought blazblue wasn't into incest?
>>124533809
It's not incest if it's platonic.
