I know what you mean, man.
Only thing you should always keep in mind is "keep pushing". You're rusty now, you're rusty first 30minutes/hour/two, but eventually you'll feel that drawing satisfies you and that what you've drawn actually looks pretty decent. So, keep pushing.
>>124485466
It doesn't work like that. First, you must fall in love with eros and female body like never before. Then you work something out from there. Passion will drive you.
Oh, the stuff he says on his streams. "Ah, I'm so tired of that action, I want to draw an ero scene! I was born to draw ero scenes!"

He's talking out of his ass because it's obvious this particular mangaka doesn't trace/rely on reference material for his characters too much.

But... a TON of other mangaka do. 3D models or photos, but a lot of them use reference. It's still faster than constructing everything.

And for backgrounds, using reference photos is the default.

OP clearly says his "drawing powers". Even if you steal his joke-telling and storytelling powers along with that, you could never write and pen the Tsugumomo he'd have written.
>>
>>124489638
>drawing skills are stored in the heart

Imagination can be argued to be a skill. Knowledge is collected information relying on memories. You don't have his memories, or experiences, or personality. You can only create a fanfiction tsugumomo, even if it's a good one.
>>
>>124490010
>Knowledge is collected information relying on memories.
Drawing skill is motoric memory and technique aka knowledge.
>>
>>124490078

You're stretching OP's post far beyond the breaking point. The only way you could write Tsugumomo is if you literally became him and forgot who you were. Even if you somehow absorbed his memories and experiences, your own memories and experiences would still color and change the work.

Life drawing and illustration are pretty distinct disciplines, you won't get good at drawing what you imagine by just drawing what you see... though it helps. There's a lot more needed.

Well, unless you want to compose everything in your pictures out of reference photos, that's a way too.
>>
>>124491125
You're confusing what we're talking about. It's the result, not the person. Just because the simile speaks of a person doesn't mean that it's referring to the person in the original scenario because we weren't even discussing him. We were only talking about his work.

Then don't come up with terrible analogies. If you murdered Akira Toriyama and replaced Dragon Ball's second half with "dragonball multiverse", you would have deprived the world of dragonball's second half and instead given it your own fanfiction. Assuming you could even trick the world that your work is toriyama's, that would be a logistical nightmare.

See? You're just bullshitting your way through this.
The existence of bad fanfiction does not mean that a person of the same skill as the original author (which, as I explained, is not limited to just his drawing skill) could not produce stuff of the same quality as the original material.

It is. The mother is a poor choice because it's a producer and not a product, you're literally turning the situation on it's head. And even then it doesn't work.
>that a person of the same skill as the original author could not produce stuff of the same quality as the original material.
This is irrelevant. Even if you had the skill to produce work of the same quality as Toriyama's (like that's such a high bar), by murdering him and stealing his abilities, you'd be depriving the world of the manga he WOULD HAVE WRITTEN, because even if you take everything about him, you would still not be him, and as a result would make something different.

So even if you could perfectly emulate Tsugumomo's art and writing style, you could never write the Tsugumomo the artist is going to. Just a good quality fanfiction..

Since you are directly experiencing your mother, but only directly experiencing the mangaka's manga, nope, you're missing the point.
The point being that just because a person (or a story telling style) changes with time does not make them a fake. It just means they evolved, as is natural for all living things.

>you'd be depriving the world of the manga he WOULD HAVE WRITTEN,
By the same logic you can accuse every single editor he ever had and his parents and everybody close to him (and basically everybody) for depriving the world of manga he "WOULD HAVE WRITTEN". So?

-good man - manga + manga + skill = - good man + skill
You're trading a man for the possession of his skill.
Since he basically is his skill (and his personality, it's basically

Wrong, it's:
-good man -mangaA + manga B + personal skill.

Not to mention you'd likely just draw porn for yourself instead of trying to finish Tsugumomo, and you'd be dissatisfied because fapping to your own porn is weird and uncomfortable (just like, I imagine, reading your own manga).
>>
>>124492664
>-mangaA + manga B
It's quantum manga. So long as they don't exist both his and your manga have the potential to be either A or B and the superposition only collapses once you actually draw it. So no, A and B does not come into the equation.

>>124492799

There's nothing quantum about it. You're replacing a man with another that has his skills. Yours would never be his, because you're a fundamentally different person and this would affect your creation to be fundamentally different from his.

You'd deprive the world of his manga, you'd deprive yourself of his manga, and you'd murder a good man in exchange for skills that, while impressive, aren't impossible to achieve.
Not a good deal.

The point is that drawing digitally is not a demerit and drawing on paper and pen is not a badge of honor. They're different mediums and instruments but the skill required to be great at either is great.

And the Tsugumomo guy can draw on pen and paper just as well, even if he's clearly more used to the tablet at this point.

I'm not very good at drawing, I'm better than some, but not really.
Something you should really consider is learning traditional art and figure drawing before you start doing anything like manga or cartooning.
When I read a how-to manga book by an actual Japanese guy who can actually fucking draw manga, it's from a perspective that expects you to know that stuff already.

I'd say practicing really hard on drawing manga will be somewhat fruitless if you don't get the main components down (on which there are so many sources of information).

Again, I'm not very good. Most people's drawings here are miles better than what I can do. However I'll say one more thing. As with anything you want to be good at, you can't just practice, you have to want to practice.
You have to enjoy the act of getting better at something.
The artists I respect the most, and tend to enjoy the most are always improving and trying new things.

In all seriousness, if you draw for that long and you're not improving very fast, you may be doing something wrong. Many artists fall into a rut always drawing the same thing in the same style and just stay stuck, for decades.
Just drawing is not enough. You have to actively try to improve by objectively looking at your shit and identifying what's bad.
