so according to the previous threads and this is supported in the manga. in blame the structure has been built up to the point where it is one complete structure that extends around the sun past jupiter and is something like 9 million km. its an awesome concept and all but where in the fuck did they get the materials to make all that? this just seems like a MASSIVE plot hole to me. did anybody ever read any details that shed light on this issue? i can only assume they are mining other solar systems but still. it just seems a bit ridiculous to me.
>>
>>124356067
They at least to some extent dismantle the planets. Also, the Sun is a pretty fucking huge energy source. Megastructure itself is very light material.

even considering the dismantling of the planets and the energy that they get from the son there is still just not enough mass to make anything that large. pic related

The last two were as big as the megastructure, you're expecting too much. Should've waited at least a week to have this thread instead of one day, then we might get some real results.

sooo...
in theory they could have extended the distance between molecules to the point where it is barely a solid but still have them hold together so that way they exponentially increase the amount of mass they have to work with?

OR did they just find a way to generate matter out of "thin air"?

I can't stop thinking about how amazing it would be to have an ambient platformer set in the city with massive, randomly generating environments and infrequent encounters with a wide range of life forms, all hostile ones basically functioning as boss fights. No hud, no cutscenes, just a fuckload of exploring and sometimes killing. I could get lost in a game like that for hours.

What's up with Nihei's architecture? It appears to be a common theme across all of his works.

why would you re read worst Nihei?
>>
>>124356431

What Nihei's basically saying that the Dyson Structure encased the sun, and instead of letting that energy bleed into space, it was used at 100% capture, since it has literally nowhere to go.

Given that the amount of energy the sun will release between now and when it converts into a Red Giant, is enough to power the human race for millions of years. Then as BLAME! technology rapidly advanced due to singularity and post singularity events, it allowed for newer technologies and power sources and matter conversion techniques to emerge.

While the sun continues to power the Dyson hyperstructure, at some point in time, the builders via the megastructure hardware and the netsphere, figured out how to draw in dark matter and convert it into normal usable matter. This means that all the dark matter available in the solar system is available for building.

Further, since dark matter can cause gravitational influences, and nihei posits that it's possible to draw energy from gravitational occurrence, with an immense amount of dark matter coupled with a vast amount of energy drawn from the sun, you now have the perfect playground to experiment willy nilly with an very large volume of space in all kinds of technologies that would under normal EARTH conditions, if gone awry, obliterate entire states and countries.

Then, as the dyson structure grew from the energy to matter conversion process, it began to influence local spatial mass, and draw more dark matter towards it. This in turn further created a greater gravitational influence upon the hyperstructure. This in turn generates more energy, which is then used to generate more matter, and more energy and more matter, ad infinitum.

This process continues for thousands of years unchecked until Killy FINALLY manages to access the netsphere and send a global command to cease ALL expansion of the hyperstructure.

Make sense?

I believe the developer suffered a loss in family, and placed the simulation on an indefinite hiatus.

Nihei wasn't a manga by trade. His primary job before he became a mangaka, was an architect. He loves architecture like we love anime, manga, doujins and hentai. So you tend to see his architecture replicate across a lot of his works.

This thread will be here tomorrow, and the day after until hits 400 posts or auto-sages. BLAME! is hype.

It wouldn't just be all walking. Destructible environments (if something is in the way, blow it up) climbing, crawling, intense platforming action. Like Assassins Creed, except not shit.
>>124356661
It wouldn't be anything like that. While you could collect just about anything that can be carried, it isn't necessarily the goal of the game and there is no level up system, no currency, no experience points or anything like that. There would have to be topless android chicks here and there, though.

>>124356912
Because until about a week ago when I started watching sidonia it was the only Nihei accesible to me.

I'm an argie and not only is Blame! here literally nowhere , but in the only place where they have it it's expensive as shit and not even volume 1 (plus it's in spain spanish which is literally the worst language known to man)

Can't read online because my manga collecting autism has forbidden me from reading stuff online except weekly/monthly stuff

Has Sidonia really given Niheis older works such a popularity boost? I mean I'm glad that his stuffs being discovered by more people but then again I would have rather they were found on their own merit rather than a by product of the Sidonia hype

The main reason they hate it is because it's almost nothing at all like his usual style, which blame is the quintessential example of. It's far more like a traditional manga than what his hardcore fans are used to, and even plays straight the usual /m/ tropes: super special teenage mc who gets a super special robot, high school hijinks and hilarious misunderstandings, that one rich douchebag everyone hates, cute girls fawning all over awkward mc for no real reason, It's almost like if Blame Gakuen! was played seriously as a mecha series. That all being said, it's really not bad, just not what you'd expect from Nihei. And it really isn't fair when comparing anything to Blame! because I really don't think anything will ever be quite as breathtakingly amazing as that again.
>>
>>124358537

The Ls' are a code.

>>124358588

Yes. Sidonia has bought much of his works to the mainstream audience. It has given him a great deal of flexibility with his work, more money, and much more exposure.

And with BLAME! getting made into a new CGi short. It also has increased the chances of his other works possibly being made into shows as well, such as BIOMEGA and Abarra. Both of these are long enough that they could encompass a single cour 12 episode series.
>>
>>124358417

BLAME! fag here, I like Sidonia. It's a solid manga and a pretty good show too. The generalization, personally, goes too far.

Blame! v09 c058 183.jpg
15 KB, 700x1100
It takes an object, 165 days to fall from the top of the cavity the size of Jupiter, to reach the bottom and smash into the surface of the cavity structure.

45% of a full year of non stop falling to get from top to bottom.

Assuming an average month is 30 days, you could comfortably live on it for FIVE FULL MONTHS, before you would need to prepare your emergency shoots so you don't smash into the bottom and die.
>>
>>124359240
I second this anon.

I love BLAME! and I also like Sidonia, Abara, Biomega and other Nihei productions, too bad some of them like Blame2 are in limbo and will probably never continue... or maybe after Sidonia end...
