The coloration causes my physical pain.
Instead of pastel pink they should have used something closer to flesh tone, with the undersides of her arms and other exposed "muscular" looking areas being dark red.
Harder, armor-like parts like her protective helmet and the jointed parts of her mouth should have been closer to bone color, along with the pieces of husk on her left arm, and the spines growing out of her neck.
As is, she doesn't really look organic to me at all, the modeling is very nice, but the coloring is a bit of a letdown.

If Sidonia was using some form of chemical propellant, or other thrust systems not dependent on concentrated Hyggs particles, the Gauna wouldn't be drawn to them at all unless they presented a direct threat.
My theory is that Gauna are on the same sentience level as human infants, capable of understanding basic things like pain and pleasure, food, threats, and other simple concepts, and acting in a manner that fits their best interest, but nothing much beyond that.
