Before you guys tell me to go back to /m/, I'm not really a mech kinda guy. I mean I can enjoy a mech show I guess but if I were to list my top 10 anime I wouldn't be too shocked if G-Gundam was the only mech show up there.
G-Gundam is a magical show though, the mechs are pretty much just tools for them to do wacky shit with. It's like the perfect anime, a great parody of shounen series and mecha series, without being a big joke. Hell, I cried a couple times, it drew me in and made me care about the characters even with the shenanigans it was pulling. I felt their love, their anger, and all of their sorrow.

It's a masterpiece.Seriously, though, if you're a fan of mysteries and overarching stories, you're gonna love it. Hands down, the best protagonist and secondary characters I've seen in animation. That could've changed if they had animated 20th Century Boys, though. I'd recommend that too.

K-On is my favourite, I think. All of the characters are really fun and likable, it's hard not to become emotionally attached to them. It's the one show I consistently feel myself missing, like a part of me is gone or something since I finished it.
