Nah, Glen doesn't want to keep him out of vampire hunter squad, because he needs to heckle Yuu into unlocking the Seraph power at some point.
But vampires (ones who aren't starved for blood and weak like the one in the school) are so much stronger than humans that humans have to work in squads to defeat them. Glen really did need Yuu to have friends before he could be an effective vampire hunter.
There's also the issue of their weapons, which I think will come up next episode. To use a cursed weapon like Glen's, the user needs to mentally confront the demon powering the weapon. Someone who had only negative feelings like revenge would be eaten up. Yuu getting a more positive, forward-looking worldview at the end of this episode is essential to his ability to successfully use a cursed weapon, and thus kill vampires.
In the context of this universe -- needing a cohesive team to effectively kill vampires, needing a reasonably positive mind to control a vampire-killing weapon -- it makes sense that Glen forced Yuu to make friends.
Glen is probably keikaku'ing a bunch of other shit, too, so I wouldn't be surprised if he orchestrated Yuu bumping into Yoichi, who has a similar backstory to Yuu, so that Yuu would realize how ridiculous his own drive for revenge is.

Animation was solid like episode 1, OST and backgrounds are nice. I like Guren and that girl with purple hair, but I'm still waiting for the story to begin. Very few QUALITY cuts, and outside of that horrible crowd there isn't much CG. Looks like WIT learned their lesson.
