That and another torrent claiming to be 60fps. I'm not sure how they did it but it looks really cool. The animation is much more fluid. That said the frames get kind of fucked up in the really fast action scenes.
I'm not sure what which I like better. The blu ray (as far as I know) has good resolution and the new camera angles, but has the same frame rate as the TV release as far as I can tell.
I wish I was more technically inclined so that I could better describe the differences between the two versions. I've torrented the show a few times now and I can't decide what looks best.

Totally agree on the space battle scenes. I judge the show this way in part because it is CGI, I normally don't consider frame rate to be an element of "artistic style." I obviously haven't asked them, but I suspect the show's frame rate is a consequence of their intended TV release, not because they wanted it to look that way. Maybe the distinction doesn't mean much, framerate isn't something people worry about outside of video games anyway.

There was 1 using hoshijiro's converted body, later known as benisuzume. 3 other clones showed up with that one in the first encounter in volume 3. Later in volume 4, 48 clones of 702 show up in clasp formation.
MC recovers one of the 3 clones because it was never in the cockpit. It was just floating outside attached by an umbilical, see pic.
And benisuzume is better both in part by being the original and having human parts, and by being the only one that lives through most encounters. It has experience.
