Theres several references to christianity in this world, which means the author is vaguly familiar with it.
In this manner we can assume that hitogami is kind of like the hebrew god, and his name follows the same rules and conversions.
In the jewish tradition, it's taboo allowed to write out the name of god. In english, this ends up being written as G_D when referencing the concept of god, and when you have to directly reference god's name, yahweh, it gets turned into YHWH.
