Time for Witch Craft Works chapter 42 spoilers to start dropping, no full chapter yet, and it looks like a doozy. So at least those really slow few months paid off.Starts with a scene of Natsume and Hono-kyun reaching the fabricated world's equivalent of the Contract Tree, where he briefly took over from Kazane back in the Weekend arc. I might be understanding wrong, but I believe he has to go in alone since, having contracted the city before only he has 'access rights' or some such. Natsume doesn't know exactly what he needs to do, but she tells him if he can find and defeat their unseen 'enemy', the world's collapse should stop. Despite this, and quite unlike the Honoka we've seen face adversity till this point, he shows no fear and just puts on a serious game face and says he'll just have to go give it a try. Like the confident Honok-kun that gave Ayaka hope to live as a kid has returned.We then switch over by some means to a flashback from Kazane's POV to a number of years ago. She brings a heavily bleeding and injured Komachi to Shiori's doorstep, urgently needing her help. Shiori is emotional and desperate, yelling at Kazane for getting Komachi "mixed up in that" despite her many warnings, but Kazane can only seriously apologize and claim full responsibility. They can't stop the bleeding themselves, nor would a hospital do any good. Japanese are suckers for not spoiling things completely, but apparently Kazane says/does/suggest something here that is 'pretty shocking' to save her, that required her bringing Komachi to Shiori's (I don't THINK she's taken over the family estate yet).

It also involves Kazane giving a small amount of her blood to Komachi, although not forming a contract like Honokayaka had. Natsume is flipping out at her, because due to Kazane's taboo method, even if they SUCCEED in saving her life, if their transgression is ever discovered, Kazane, and the lives of all the 'Humans' she's touched/interfered with will be banished/erased from this world (whether or not Shiori is counting Witches as 'Humans' or it confirms that Komachi isn't a witch I'm not sure). In any event, this is one of those "the three of us must take this secret to our graves" things. Kazane came to Shiori because she wants her to use her shadow person abilities to 'erase the records of what happened here tonight from the City".The flashback skips ahead several years to after Komachi has given birth to both Honoka and Kasumi. Kazane is meeting with Shiori and catching up. It's my guess/assumption that after whatever they did to save her is when Kazane basically stopped seeing Komachi much at all, if ever, since Shiori seems her source of knowledge and the Chairwoman's never met the kids despite it being a number of years. The whole family's with Shiori for one reason or another, so Kazane meets very young Hono-kyun and Kasumi-chan for the first time. Honoka is timid, and Kasumi seems like a silent, violent little tyke, destroying her teddies.

He's starting to show "the signs/symptoms", presumably as a result of what they did to Komachi and him "inheriting" Kazane's blood, and if they don't take care of it soon it'll be a huge deal. He might go berserk, and if the bigwigs of the Witchy world find out, all of them are FUBAR. Which is why Kazane is going to step in and carry out the shota training we know happened. We come out of the flashback vision with Honoka and he's notably shocked, not just by the revelation, but by the worry of who knows all this, and why and how they showed him the visions of the past.

It looks like they find something, but what it is I'm not sure yet, if we even find out. Weekend and 3Black6 are doing their own things as well. Somehow Mikage-sensei shows up at the end, whether being the one Hono-kyun meets in the heart of Kasumi's World or found by one of the other two groups I'm not certain, but he's in some sort of straights and has the last line. The big question still unanswered is who exactly is behind all of this, with so many possible 'culprits'. Next month in the conclusion to this 3-parter.

I'm trying to figure out how the Evermillion angle works into this. Like, it's something the Kagari family dealt with/sealed ages ago (Kazane is from the true End Witch days), and carried it in her blood, whatever they did to save Komachi passed it on to her family, re: Honoka by inheritance?
Since we still don't know what actually hurt Komachi, we don't know why Ayaka bears the same scar, although if Honoka's "incident" with her is similar, did he get 2x Evermillioned?

The way I interpreted those spoiler pages, it looks to me like Komachi was attacked LOOONG before there even was an Ayaka to begin with. Also, if the chronology of those flashbacks is correct, it also appears that whatever power Honoka 'inherited', it was passed on to him at birth rather than from some sort of accident later in life.
My working theory is thatXXXX attacked Komachi and Kazane stepped in to save her. Whether if it was something already in Komachi is unclear. But through Kazane's interference, Komachi was saved through some sort of power. This power then passed on (in an unstable manner) to Honoka at birth. Kazane was then made to take responsibility and seal it through some secret training. At this point, Ayaka comes into the picture. So now I'm thinking that the fabled accident was probably the result of Releasing something sealed within Honoka from birth that manifested and then attacked Ayaka, resulting in HER scar.

It does seem somewhat suspicious that Medusa is the ONLY major player we know who hasn't been mentioned or involved in these proceedings yet. It's kind of like a whodunit right now, since the question is who's behind what's going on. Mikage-sensei seems suspicious as heck since he's the only one who might know about what happened with this secret Komachi ritual back then, and he apparently is showing up at the climax here, but that could be a red herring.
