When is Gen Urobuchi going to write something as good as Madoka or Saya no Uta again?
>Urobutcher
>Writing something good
>>123413121
Are you one of The Butcher's kids?
People hate him then want him to write something the next.
Make up your mind.
>>123413121
>Madoka
>good written
Madoka is overrated faggot but would still fuck homura
>>123413208
>hate him
He has hundreds of edgy fanboys
>>123413208
>you in charge of getting it
They want to laugh at what he writes next, duh
This is why you got bullied in high school.
>dude that created the original concept for psycho piss, gargantia, az
He will never reach the same level of madoka ever again. Her is past it.
>>123413272
>>123413275
>literal MEMEsters wanting to fit in
>>123413241
>anime
>well written
>>123413170
But Madoka was the finest piece of art ever put to paper.
>>123413121
Expelled from Paradise is out though
Not baiting but what's so good about Madoka? So overrated.
>>123413293
Frogs should be banned from /a/
>>123413548
Little girls suffering
muh drama
>>123413540
I thought /a/ said that was bad
>>123413466
>Edgy anime of magical girls
>>123413121
When is he going to write another 6/10? Well, he wrote Psycho Pass.
He already did!
>>123413121
Chaos Dragon
>>123413609
deconstruction of mahou shoujo genre
>>123413548
It's a great story executed perfectly with nice visuals and music. Sometimes that's all you need.
>>123413683
Is that a ps2 game
>>123413723
Of course. Everything is a deconstruction now. Just like Evangelion.

>>123413896
Man thats some ugly CGI.
>>123413937
I can show you something even uglier.
Just look into mirror.
>>123413895
Just like his 'deconstruction' means shit. Everything is shit in the hands of a hack.
>>123413978
Stop please, my poor eyes.
Thank god it flopped.
>>123414002
>it flopped
I'm pretty sure it was way above producer's expectations.
>>123414002
It actually sold amazingly well, you disgrace of a troll.
>>123413583
It's quite entertaining, the characters are fun and the CG is actually good.
>>123413121
he going to write for series per year or so and have his name plasted somewhere in a series every 2-3 seasons cause people use his name to sell without him doing shit
>>123414047
>>123414044
Thats awful news then
Japs and their shit taste as usual
>>123414044
>tips fedora
>>123414044
>implying he wasn't just pretending to hate it so that you would post webms of it
>>123414081
This is sadly the truth. Happend for PP2, Gargantia and A.Z.
>>123414119
Tsundere huh?
I like it.
>>123413895
Why do you bother arguing with people trying so hard to fit in?
>>123414141
Nah it was ugly garbage.
>>123413121
But Gargantua already happened.
>>123414083
Coming from a faggot who haven't even seen the film. Get a trip, so we can easily ignore your poor trolling attempts.
>>123414159
You are playing hard to get eh?
I know you loved it!
>>123414165
No one wants to mention that underrated show any more.
>>123413121
>SnU released on 2003
>Meguka released on 2011
About 4 years from now.
Although Gaim wasn't 10/10 material but it was more fun than anything he wrote recently.
>>123414165
Butcher didn't write Gargantia. He only provided the scenario and wrote the first and the last episode.
>>123414204
>>123413121
>Madoka
>considered good because it tackles the concept of hope and despair and features how the characters strive to make themselves stronger against all odds
>Gargantia, Psycho Pass, Expelled from Paradise
>considered bad because instead of spending time improving the plot and characters, it decided to discuss politics and debate about what makes a perfect world
Not mean to speak for him but it appears to me like after experiencing success, Uro has abandoned his old character and decided to improve his political knowledge. Most likely because he plans to improve his leadership skills in the studio.
Can say I blame him but I doubt he made the right choice
>>123414204
>>123414340
Utter trash.
>>123414485
He already did, not like you fucking pleb would know about it though.
But Phantom was far better than Madoka or Saya.
>>123414413
>EfP
>politics
Explain.
I think it focuses a lot on Angela realizing her life was based on a misinformation and reacting to it.
>>123414506
I hope you post the rest of this garbage since I'm going to sleep.
>>123414604
Don't worry.
I will make sure to keep this thread bumped until you wake up.
>>123414413
I daresay EfP was as character-centric as Madoka.
>>123414642
I-It's not like a like you and your webms. Baka!Night.
>>123414702
Good night!
>>123414599
Well, it was not exactly politics but more like political views
The entire plot of EfP was practically about how a world governed by omnipotent, omnipresent leaders can look so amazing but at the same time is prone to corruption and injustice
And funny thing about it is that the entire show is practically about Communism but Uro does not seem to know that that concept works only in papers, never in real life
>>123414413
His pre-F/Z work has been mostly individuals fighting the system and stories where love triumphs over all.
Starting with Madoka he changed that so the status quo remains while the MC gets fucked over. He brought his old style back with Rebellion but many were divided on that. If he were to write Madoka before F/Z it would have ended like Rebellion with Homura taking over instead of Madoka.
Madoka is more like P-P, Expelled and Gargantia, just not that good of a drama/conflict. Which is what Uro is good at.
>>123413896
This is literally the most Gen Urobuchi like thing I've ever seen.
>>123414083
It's not shit taste it's called otaku being otaku. At least get the situation right. It pandered to otaku and had a popular writer so they bought it en masse. It literally doesn't get any more complicated than that.
>>123414769
>His pre-F/Z work has been mostly individuals fighting the system and stories where love triumphs over all.
Really? Then how come SnU is the later?
>>123413895
the word has lost all its meaning at this point, even if it was one it doesn't make it good, stay in that little illusion world of yours
>>123413121
I ironically want him to write the next season of Precure. He wrote for Kamen Rider, get on this shit Toei.
>>123414413
It's more like he keeps telling the same damn set of themes but never really approaching any sort of conclusive resolution about anything over and over again with different skins. He's literally told his story at this point, which is probably why he doesn't seem to write as much these days. Even Gunslinger Stratos sounds samey as fuck if you read the synopsis. Gen Urobuchi was fresh 4 years ago when he did Madoka but he doesn't really have much else to offer besides name branding for producers looking to make a hit. I see him just continuing to get used in that capacity now.
>he didn't watch Gaim
It basically has the same style and pacing as his anime stories, but with more HAPPENING and action than usual.
>>123414873
SnU is special because it has 3 endings 2 where status quo remains and one where love does triumph over the adversity. I consider the bloom ending to be the main one, I'm sure if SnU were to have only one ending, it would be that one.
>>123415024
>I consider the bloom ending to be the main one,
Oh, we have an hardass here.
>>123413121
When a producer pays him to do something instead of just slapping his name onto things.
Madoka would've been unremarkable had it not been for Magica Quartet, but now it's a masterpiece.
>>123413839
why is it so cheap looking
>>123415067
It's the most interesting.
>>123415183
Because Toei is cheap. I'm surprised they still can make decent movies.
>>123415183
I'd say it's probably 'cause it wasn't very expensive to produce...?
But the visuals were decent enough to tell the story, so I personally was fine.
It didn't actually slip into an uncanny valley situation too often, either.
>>123415111
>madoka
>masterpiece
>>123414272
Gaim was fun.
>>123415639
>>123413121
Whatever he writes I'll watch it, even if it turns out to be complete shit which is highly unlikely.
>>123415789Shitcchy and Ryouma are my favorite characters.
>>123415291
name one masterpiece then, faggot
Ok, I'm back!
Madoka wasn't good thanks to Urobutchi. It was all Shinbou.
>>123417301
>shitty jew that ruined the movie
>good in any way
>>123417638
>ruined
I think you mean saved.
>>123417301
>Shinbou
Only Urobuchi could have saved Koufuku Graffiti.
>>123417748
But that show was aots. It needed no saving.
psy cop ass is better than both of those
>>123413121
>None of the Gaim movies since that one where they travel to alternative Sengoku Era Japan have been subbed
Fucking Magenta.
Saya no Uta wasn't even that good. It was just unique in premise.
>>123415111
Hasn't he more or less gone on record as saying he wants to try live action now? I've always gotten the impression that he does that really like working in anime much, which is why in terms of production order he hasn't really actually sat down to write a complete story for something since Psycho Pass Season 1. EFP had been stuck in production hell since before Madoka was even a thing as far as I recall until his name got popular and Toho decided to fast track it. Psycho Pass the movie was likely a contractual obligation and Gunslinger Stratos he just came up with the scenario for the game or rather Nitroplus staff did and they just slapped his name on it because it's more recognizable. That Chaos Dragon thing he just played a character which the anime staff has already changed around to a waifu so I mean if he actually is involved directly in an upcoming anime it's the best kept secret in the industry.
>>123422664
Also to add something, the fact that the industry and fanbase at large seems absolutely fixated on one name and it's a guy that styles himself as an eroge enthusiast that has yet to grow up is pretty worrisome sustainability wise. If things have gotten to the point where coveting this one guy who does not want to really do any work is seen as the key to success (and quite possibly is considering how success gets measure in disc sales and hype nowadays) then there's a problem.
>>123420446
Kamen Rider movies as a whole are usually utter shit you're not missing much
