Anon if there's one thing that never happened in this show, it's a girl getting shafted.
So I haven't been around and haven't seen any feedback on this show, but I see it has a weighted score of 3 on AniDB, and their weighted scores are usually pretty accurate.
But for once, I totally disagree here. As an overall anime, yes it was definitely flawed - but as a yuri anime, this was the fucking logical conclusion to the genre.
The double entendres and social commentaries added a significant amount of depth to a show I expected nothing but blatant fanservice from; and while this lead to some of its biggest problems too, it completely blew away other yuri anime.
The fanservice was actually relevant to the show's plot, and subdued enough to not drag the show down (looking at you, Sakura Trick). even the OP, ED, and animation style were among the top this season.
Overall, I'd have to give it a 6/10, but as a yuri anime, an amazing 9/10.
