I really, really hate the whole 'gosh, I'm the main character and I'm new to the city, let me narrate the episode with exposition about my friends and my feelings' thing. It's a terrible way to start an anime. It usually means I'm not going to like the anime, because it usually follows up with more narrator expositions and MC whining.

It literally introduces you each character and their quirks with some back story.
This goes on for a while, then shit hits the fan once they're all established.

About the end of the Hollywood arc I came to realization that I only really care about Celty's part of the story. Hope the next cour has more cute Celty with her husbando, this last arc was lacking.

In season 1 they had a backstory episode. You know how there's those stories about people being able to temporarily surpass their limits through pure adrenaline rush, and like lift up a car to save someone?
Shizuo triggers that reaction all the time when he's pissed off. And eventually his body got used to it so he doesn't end up crippled afterwards.
The writer seems to love the "normal human guy who is the strongest among monsters" trope.
