He was already at the school festival and the most reasonable place to look is there. Even if she ask around the best she will get it someone saw him go to the bathroom. Afterwards he went to the middle of the woods and to his room. Unless she has the nose of a dog she should not find him naturally and just for plot reasons.
Even if she goes to the dorms the door should be closed and locked (unless Kiyohi is a retard and left it open) and even if she open the door the room should be dark enough to safely assume no one is there.
The best I could see is Chiyo knocking on the door no one responds and gives up (has to return to the cavalry battle) and kills the mood. Kiyoshi has lied before to her about noot peeping and the sumo thing so he has no reason to open the door and most likely stay quiet in his room. The same thing can be accomplished with the alarm clock but that would realistically be put on snooze or get wrecked.
