For everything else, the overall gain on investment isn't actually that high. If the price of the stocks double a year, thats great when you have a couple hundred grand in stocks, but not so much when you have only a couple hundred dollars worth.

I'm 29 and if I was sent back to say, age 10, or something, I can tell you, right now, there is zero percent chance anyone in my life with money would have ever believed me enough to give me a decent amount of seed money to play with. If anyone DID believe I knew anything, it would likely freak them out more than anything. Not get them to trust me enough to let me invest their money.
The honest best I could do is work my ass in my teenage years, save up as much as I possibly could, then bet it all on a few superbowls, and then invest THAT into Marvel or something.
Either way, I would be about the age I am now before I had was finally with enough money to do anything worthwhile with, and people can make that much money just getting a decent career.
Basically, unless you can memorize lottery numbers, or your family is already rich enough for you to have plenty of seed money for investing, all "starting over" would do is give you the opportunity to not repeat your fuck ups.
