Look at it this way, for all the rushed work, Tigre's arrowlad scenes were pretty fucking glorious and if you look at something like LH2 you can see how having more budget and episodes doesn't necessarily help you if the studio is retarded.

It did wrap up the arc it started. Which is better than most LN around. No miracles with only one cour. Except Mila of course.
If there's one thing the anime really did right, it was that the designs themselves look better than the LN/manga/etc equivalent. That's pretty rare.
