Not trying to troll, but why do you find 5cms sad? The ending and the film is all about how childhood romance is unrealistic and that moving on in the end creates a happier direction for those involved.

The Sky Crawlers. Maybe twice a year, I bundle up in a big blanket, put on this movie and just have myself a real sad time.
The music, the pacing and the story concept just keeps bringing me back to it when I want to have a real sadtime.
