Well, I downloaded the "leaked" patch a few months ago and it was edited like ass, I'll check the completed patch later.
Still that doesn't change the fact that it took the 8 years to finish the first patch, so expect a release date of 2023

Shouldn't be too bad. They have all the resources in place and the means to insert it, so it's just pure tedium. One person could probably pump out a scene a day if they had absolutely nothing to do, so two or three people could reasonably finish a few scenes a week at a slower pace.

There have only been three teams.
First arai translated some scenes from Japanese on BL, and gndynames translated some scenes from Chinese on his blog, and I think some guy called BlueGunner or something like that translated some scenes on MM's forums. This is not a team.
amukunau and delta were the first team, they started a project to translate from Korean. amukunau made a blog doing weekly updates, then semi-weekly updates, then monthly updates, then no updates for months.
Some time later ranmafan and mewarmo990 tired to collate and amalgamate all the previous efforts onto tlwiki, amukunau handed over all the work he'd done so far (about 15-20% of the script IIRC) and quit. Later ranmafan went MIA, then mewarmo990 quit to go to med school, and the project was filled with google translate from (IIRC) random Argentinians.
Jacktheinfinite101 took over the project at some point but had no translator. Thanks to this it stalled for months more until the leak happened, and (I think, I wasn't really paying attention) apparently this was enough to motivate Dozenagent and eternal dreamer to step up finish the job, this was the third team and final.

The stalling the last time was due to a lack of motivated translators. This time round it should be largely programming and not translation, this job is perfect for an autistic programmer like Jack, if he stays true to form it should be done within a reasonable timeframe.
As for the recording, apparently Jack wasn't even going to attempt this project due to logistics of recording until someone even more autistic came to him with voice files already recorded.

Indeed, I believe we also have them to thank for translations of Kagetsu Tohya, parts of Mahoyo (I can't find the patches myself but I'm assured that mcjon01 did indeed release partial patches based on his translations), various side materials like CM3 and everything on the Fuyuki wiki (if you lump arai under "Beast's Lair"), and the Moonlit World (Evospace was admin of BL too) translations of the Tsukihime 2 Prelude, Talk, and Angel Notes (Evospace again) and probably much more that isn't coming to mind immediately.
For all /a/ makes fun of them they really are a core part of the foundation of the English-speaking TM fanbase.
