Literally why?

It's cute.
Budget.

>he isn't a splitmouth
kek kek
It looks better than just drawing a single line.
>>122447662
It might be to show that there is less separation of the lips there
It shows the closing of the lips.
>>122447662
I forgot why, but I remember an anon answered why they do that.
>>122447662
They tried it connected and it looked worse so they disconnected it. It's not rocket science, OP.
>>122447662
It shows the lips are closed
It's to imply the Cupid's bow so they don't have to draw it.

wow, so much worse.
Doesn't it have something to so with making their mouth look like its more a part of them rather than just a line drawn on them or something like that?
>>122447921
you're proving my point
>>122447921
Actually, yes it is.
It's a cheap way to demonstrate closed lips without actually drawing any lips i.e. muh minimalism while saving on budget.
That's not even the worst of it, though. What really grinds my gears is when they show girls standing with their feet facing each other like they're fucking two and don't know how to stand properly yet or are pissing themselves and are desperately trying to hold it.

Looks pretty cute.
>>122447921
It really is not so good.

I have an opinion regarding this.
Also, noses are apparently singular dots now.
