im a naturally slow reader and i try as hard as i can to read fast but i never even get to enjoy any of the damn anime because im too busy fucking reading!!

I'm not OP, but watching that right now. Holy shit that guy talks fast. Like the show is fantastic, but it would be just a tiny bit better if the narrator just slowed down just a tad. This show reminds me of Amelie. In that you have a narrator making quick little quips about their life and thoughts about things while it quickly shows little shots of stuff.

It's terrible for learning it, basically you only recall the most basic things that everyone says all the time and that doesn't do jack shit for teaching you the grammar and sentence structure, which if you know those well -then- you can easily pick up new vocabulary on the fly.
Usually you are too focused on what is going on (even if it's a slice of life) to remember a new word you happened to pick out for very long. It is a million times easier to just look up words you are curious about rather than wait for them to randomly be said in an anime.

A lot of seiyuu are actually extremely competent, the thing that is disheartening is realizing how shittily written / badly executed so many drama scenes are. Things that would make a faggot high school weeaboo cry very, very often just sound hammy and corny to someone who has been at this for a while and can hear for themselves, because it gets to a point where if you imagined someone saying the same things in English on Western TV you would roll your eyes and go "oh come on, stop fucking dragging it out it's not even that big a deal" or "good god these people are so fucking unrealistic" etc.
Once you stop giving anime a free pass on these things just because you were having fun no matter what you see because it's so exotic and unique from other media you know, you get just as jaded on it as you do on any other media. One of the biggest reasons more slice of life is so successful is because it keeps many of the things people about anime while cutting out forced drama / badly written plots crap.
I can read ~550 WPM so I barely have to read.

You should just watch shows dubbed if you are having this problem. Dub quality has vastly improved in the past 10 years. It's not a perfect solution but it definitely lets you focus more on the details and animation.

I speed read the subs, then look up. The only time my eyes aren't centered is if someone with extremely detailed eyes is staring right back.On a 42" screen, that's a big set of eyes staring right back. It unnerves me.
