One question guys:
Near the end of Fate/Zero when Iskandar is fighting Gil using Ionian Hetairoi, you can see the individual soldiers dying and "disappearing" when the reality marble collapses as a result of Enuma Elish.
Now, since Gil seems to hate "wasting" his treasures when he uses Gate of Babylon it implies that there's a finite amount. So does that mean that Iskandar's army is also finite?

He didn't want Fate to be an eroge in the first place. Hell he made lots of concessions to fit the market at the time. He switched Saber's gender, and made lots of changes with the initial story. I think that's partially why Fate is so underwhelming, there were a lot of essentially executive changes that Nasu had already accommodated to with UBW and HF.

Fate route is very straight forward. There's not a lot of twists, you can probably make it through without a single bad end even if you don't consult the flowchart, just by using your common sense. As a result, people are usually underwhelmed by the route as a whole. The world building seems solid, the characters are great, but everything happens too predictably.
UBW is where curve balls start getting thrown at you. There's twists, betrayals, and revelations. You will probably get a couple bad endings, and it also requires you to manage your character relationships somewhat, whereas in Fate they might as well not even bother giving out Saber points since the only way you'll fail that flag check is if you really hate Saber (which no one does) or are trying to get that bad end deliberately.
And HF is grueling. The last few days of it redeem the whole route for some people, enough that HF is called the best route by quite a few fans of F/SN, but even they will admit it's very slow before the climax. Also you will probably die a lot. There's a lot of character flag checks you can fuck up if you're not paying attention to who you spent time with, so you'll probably be consulting the flowchart heavily for this route.

Generally the romance in the Fate route isn't considered all that well done; the whole "you're a girl" Saber stuff was basically inserted by Nasu to remind that it's okay to fuck Saber even though the legend had her being a guy. And in UBW and HF, it's practically a non-factor. You could have a male Arthur in both and nothing would really change.

The VN is trash, but it did genuinely make fate zero more enjoyable for me. It's not the plot that's hard to understand but comparing the characters was fun. Kiritsugu would have been boring and edgy originally, instead it was fun to compare him to shirou and I was sadder when Natalie died since she would've been the perfect grandma. Same with seiba, I didnt like her in fsn but it was way more gutwrenching when she got ordered to destroy the grail cause you had seen for 70 hours how much it meant to her. If you're not willing to play 3 the VNs though the whole franchise is not worth touching in my opinion. Typemoon fags are too elitist for their own good though and fun to shitpost. Because F/Z doesn't touch on any of the complicated aspects of the setting. At all. It takes a very shallow and simple approach, making the story all about the intrigue and conflicts between masters and servants.
Did you not understand what I meant by you don't even know the stuff you don't know? It's because F/Z was written with a far narrower scope than F/SN was, omitting some of the juiciest bits of the lore. You never find out the truth about the Grail War or about the Einzberns and their catastrophic failure in the 3rd war that led to the disaster at the end of the 4th war, and eventually the 5th war as well.
You probably don't even remember the stuff that was never explained, like the Heaven's Feel or the Dress of Heaven, or the Third Magic.
