don't even know hat it is, picked it up because of the cute looking cover.
Found Volume 3, 5 and 6 of Akira in London for £3.99 each
plz don't judge - it's my guilty pleasure and the early archs don't have decent scans

goddamit anon, you lucky bastard.

>not 3-in-1 4, 5 and 6
This upsets my autism
haven't read yet, hoping it's gonna be good
>>121946101
mine too, but it also pleased my bank account so I can deal with it.
>>121945948
again, don't know what the fuck it is, I think it doesn't even have scans. did some research, apparently it's a diving sports manga and since I loved Glaucos I picked it up.
ended up paying more than planned but oh well.
I know localized manga upset /a/ but the Nausicaä box set is better than any japanese release, so fuck it!
payed 110$ I really hope it holds up to OPM
post some shelfes
I got all currently released volumes of Sunny and that Kon and Oshii: Seraphim Wings collaboration. It took almost no time for Oshii's dog to appear.

pic?
used or new?
>>121946960
From 1994, but it's first time it's been printed in English.
No pic right now. I don't have it with me, but it's here: http://snubpollard.tumblr.com/post/112363868362/basset-hound-action-scene-omg-seraphim-266613336
Oshii sure likes that dog.

>holds up
>not reading previous works first
It won't hold up. E21 is a lovely read, and has great art. But when you compare it to OPM it looks like shit. Even the comedy faces bits.
But as a body of work E21 is pretty solid. Enjoy, anon.

I want to pick up Seraphim soon. I've liked the rest of Kon's stuff so far.
>>121948182
It feels way more Oshii than Kon. As if Kon was given a tight script and followed it pretty closely.
>>121948182
God, looking at shit like this makes me wish I had money.
>>121946748
It's better.
Hope you like actually sweating while reading a manga.
>>121948235
Well, I like Oshii too so that's not a problem.
>>121948182
I recognize that shelf from /co/, great taste.
I wish I had that kind of restraint, way too much shit in my collection...
>>121948259
not that guy, but if you buy a lot of used stuff on ebay and invest some time in searching for best deals you can amass a collection like that easily even if you don't have that high a budget.

How's A drifting Life and Usamarus Picasso?
>>Only one volume of Showa
>>121949187
I haven't read A Drifting Life yet, but Genkaku Picasso was pretty good. The art is gorgeous and the story is passable, if not a little sappy from time to time. As for Showa, I'm going to get the rest of the volumes when the final one is released.

A Drifting Life is good, not fantastic but most definitely enjoyable and informative. I think it's main value is as a context piece for early manga publishing practices, the Gekiga movement and Tatsumi's Black Blizzard.

>not caught up on Origin
other than that 10/10 shelf
>>121949609
>I haven't read A Drifting Life yet,
>Buying manga and then not immediately reading it
What are you some kind of awful faggot?I have 50+ volumes of unread manga sitting right next to my bed
I got back from a 10 day trip to Japan a couple weeks ago.
I bought the TTGL set "used" (some light damage on the external packaging, actual product is flawless) for $350.
I got an assload of Nichijou merchandise. A copy of Helvetica Standard, an issue of vol. 1 of the manga, the BD set, and a set of playing cards from the KyoAni store in Kyoto.
I bought three promotional posters from a store that sells old posters for anything... Idols, anime, games. I saw a ton of PS2 advertisement posters in there, but the three I got were Ping Pong, Nichijou, andSamurai Flamenco.
No pics of the posters because they're out getting framed right now.

what's cheaper, putting shit in your luggage or sending it to your home adress via regular shipping?
mfw when suitcase lock breaks and h-manga shower all over normie pedestrians and flight attendants
more shelfs please, I know you got them.

I only brought 4 days worth of clothes for a two week trip (spent 4 days in South Korea), so I had easily a third of my luggage space open in my checked bag. I flew United and my checked bag was free, I didn't have a carry on.
I did mail souvenirs back to my hometown, though. It was maybe 5 pounds of stuff.
Slowest transportation and lowest insurance coverage. It cost, like, $35 total and it still hasn't gotten to my parents.
Got it a day early too, pissed off a few people that I did for some reason.
should I get shamo for 120 bucks?
