Shit you've read or watched that was pretty good, but is barely ever talked about.
>>
>>121724293
Oh hey, Kekkaishi. That manga was pretty good.
>>
>>121724293
Not bad.

The beginning was very good, but the last arc was way too long. And the plot (the brothers fight) was too hard to understand for me.
>>
This was good up until the end where it falls into the cliche power of friendship crap.

It wasn't the best show by far, but it was definitely an interesting watch.
>>
shit made me almost cry a couple of times, can't wait to see what he does for his next work.
>>
>>121724423
I liked it when they went more in depth over what exactly their Kekkai powers were, and then how ready Yoshimori was to sacrifice himself towards the end. He was just plain depressing, I loved it.
>>
>>121724555
This really was a great show. It was very easy-going, and an overall relaxing watch. It's pretty much How to Tame Your Dragon: the anime.

Gash Bell was better and more tears.

But Doubustsu was good too. The plot was just a little stupid. I mean all animals can talk except for fish because it tackled a problem that had no realistic solution. Carnivores will always eat meat. Someone has to die.

Only the manga though.
>>
>>121725544
Are you currently reading Witch hunter? I sort of stopped at a point where the MC was training with another disciple of his master that still had halloween.
The MC's Halloween had turned into Arthur.

And well they were training to get better.

Do you know what chapter that is? I'd like to get back to it but can't find the right chapter.
>>
>>121725569
yeah, the fish not being able to talk seemed like a huge flaw but remember there were some that were eating even their own kind, eating just for fun,or eating just because they were strong. but the fruits should have tackled most of that problem.but i do need to read gash bell I don't know If Im ready after reading this.
>>
>>121725754
If I had to rank them out of 10.

Gash would be 10/10

and Doubutsu would be a 6/10

That's how good Gash is.
>>
>>121725693
Sadly i myself haven't got to that bit yet I'm on chapter 51 and there was a meeting about revealing the 4 witches hide out but the main character supporter had to be taken away from him
>>
>>121725807
I disliked how he brought Gash into Doubutsu. Just from a personal point of view.
>>
>>121725861
When was Gash in Doubutsu?

Are you talking about that chimera kid?
>>
>>121725807
I will read gash bell, but I don't know I've never had a manga to actually make me come to the brink of crying SEVERAL times. feel like it should get at least 1 more point.

>>121725861
I don't think he did. that was ponygon I think he made a side story so people would know about his other manga since it said he moved to another magazine.

>>
>>121725901
The score wasn't compared to any other work. Just in comparisson to each other.

Like if Gash were a 10/10 then douboutsu would be a 6/10.

In general if I compare it with other series it would get a solid 8 at least.
>>
>>121725901
>>121725897
Not Gash himself, but the Gash universe, like how we had Kiyo's descendant and the guy declaring himself a sort of Mamono King, and the cloak evoking Gash's image.
>>
>>121724293
I remember reading somewhere that Kekkaishi never had any hype because it focused a lot more on character development over powerlevels, which is super odd for a shonen manga.

Good series, the MC was a great character.
>>
>>121725980
ooh. still i feel I need to take some time for my heart to heal before I start gash. why did they translaste gash to zatch?

I've always found Raiku to be an oddball among mangaka: He's got ridiculously juvenile sense of humor, but he's written some of the most intense scenes I've ever seen in a manga. Most authors go one or the other, if either at all.

I recommend Aosora from him. Very heavy.

I felt really bad for Seth. He gets cucked by his best friend, makes a huge fuck up, gets reincarnated on earth and gets close to the one he loves only to not win her in the end and proceeds to lose her to the same guy again after all the shit he goes through for her.

He was talking about when the author had to do a hand surgery. He's better, and the plot moves on.

S2 is disappointing, most of the magic of S1 is gone. For now, it's just an average manga, doesn't help that Baam has the personality of a sand paper.

>>121734481
I thought this too, but I started thinking about reading season one from the beginning, all the mystery, all the gripping cliffhangers, a lot kept me interested and yeah it's getting kinda weird now but I still love it

A huge part of what feels wrong with it is it's moving heavily away from the tests and floors, it's sort of this go here do that kind of thing, I liked it better when characters had labels and specialties now it's just, "I can do this cause this, this does this cause this"

I loved when they explained how shit worked now it's just bam bam bang bam
>>
>>121725657
People know this shit? Taikoubou is one of the greatest motherfuckers around.
>>
>>121735216

I think SIU has a pretty good idea of what his Manwha wants to be. But the execution is always underwhelming.

In S1, it was all about strategy and teamwork. It had the Mysteries of Tower and so on.

But now, the games are always full on brawl battles just like your average manga/Manwha.

Every character introduced in S2 doesn't hold a candle to any S1 character, they always feel like cannon folders to me, with really flat personalities. SIU has this problem of introducing too many characters, and not developing any of them in any meaningful way.

Baam doesn't help to hold the manwha up, as he has the personality of a plastic bag so...

>>
>>121734453
>>121735216
I have to agree, although the start of S2 was not bad. It was interesting because the MC was reintroduced to us as a mysterious character. We don't know what happened to him over the timeskip or if he's a completely different person now. But no, he's almost exactly the same person, just "OP" instead of "full of potential." The following arcs have all been very predictable and formulaic.
