Swords aren't even that sharp and the bleeding's gonna come from the palm. He's fine unless the blade was unusually sharp and it hit a nerve or he didn't grasp it firmly enough.(Speaking as someone who's grabbed a sword sorta like that.)

No sword is very sharp at all because that weakens the blade. No reasonable sword will cut you on casual contact because that shit would shatter in combat. Furthermore, a light thrusting sword (especially a rapier) is sharp at the tip mostly (if not only) because later thrusting swords were designed to not be edged so you could block a slash with your sword without much problem. This eventually degenerated into Renaissance era rapiers which are useless shit only good for signaling status and using in regulated and judged duels because you can just grab one of those fuckers with your hand and pull it away; there's almost no edge to the blade.
So to sum it up, no, no sword is sharp and especially not any thrusting sword and double especially not any dueling sword.
