So I got myself a raspberry pi and put openelec (xbmc) on it.
It plays 8bit fine (even beefy mkv of several GBs)
but struggles with 10bit, as expected.
Given that [HorribleSubs] is usually shit, what are my options? Is there someone out there which re-encodes releases into 8bit or something?
Also 10bit vs 8bit general I guess.
Deadfish.

When did you get it?
Should have got a Pi 2 if you bought it recently.
>>121576464
you realize that raspberry pi is not the only embedded board in the market right?
Anyway, you have bought the raspberry pi

Use BakedFish and DeadFish. They do 8bit encode releases right after HorribleSubs releases.

You should have bought the Pi 2 m8

today, used for 25€ with case and 8gb card.
the pi 2 is out of stuck everywhere in Europe and resellers are asking 45-50€ for it anyway.
I will probably buy one when price gets lower.

I do, but it's the one with the biggest community and software behind.

you can make an 8-bit encode with ffmpeg
ffmpeg -i input -c:v libx264 -c:a copy -c:s copy output.mkv
(and add whatever options you prefer if you don't want the default settings)
Lurk more.
>raspberry pi
You should have bought an old laptop and connected it to an arduino instead.

to his defence, it only costs him 25 Euro

Don't worry we still love you.

>You should have bought an old laptop
nor for 25€.
Also I have an i7 desktop, an i5 thinkpad, an Atom netbook, and a core2 acer.
the pi is just for fun.

I actually prefer RightShiftBy2 if they're actually doing the show.
Also, if you don't want HS, avoid BakedFish. That's the tag for HS reencodes.
