Has been waiting for this thread since I woke up. (Too lazy/retarded to start one on my own.)
I'm in situation where I need to start providing high-quality raws for my group. The thing is that I have only eleven years old scanner which can provide only subpar output and the magic of Photoshop takes about 15-20 minutes per page to get it into a usable state and I really don't have time for that. Hence I'm asking for advice which scanner to buy. I need decent output which needs basic rotation, cropping and levelling which can be done in five minutes per page. Only scanners without any other shit, please, since my flatmate has like five printers in the house already and it would be pointless to have yet another one.
Can Canon CanoScan LiDE 220 produce decent scans?

Nigga, competent scanlations have been done in MS Paint.Not sure about GIMP tho.
Layers, leveling and typesetting are sufficient for scanlating and every Photoshop version can do those.

Yeah no fuck you. I downloaded a protable CS5 and it was ASS. I couldn't drag n drop pics on it, every time I closed it and reopened it again everything was back to default settings and a lot of many other shit.
