Let's talk about accuracy to the source material
Look at Pokémon Origins. It's a much more faithful adaptation of the games than the main anime and it managed to look much more beautiful.
Picture related is Viridian city (you might remember it from the games, it's the first city you visit). See what I'm talking about? it looks nostalgic and comfy, it looks just like it does in the games
for comparison, here's what it looks like in the games
There's already a thread over at >>>/vp/. Go post there instead.
Origins wasn't super good anyway. Best thing about it was Sugita as Brock.
now, the ashnime...it decided to take a shit on all the fans
Now, look at Saffron city in the video games
Origins nailed it! it's perfect! it's what we expect from Pokémon
but the ashnime once again took a diarrheic shit on us as if we were some scat lovers
it looks nothing like it did in the games! SAFFRON IS NOT THAT BIG
but let's not stop at cities.
how about gyms? here's the very first gym you visit in the games, the Pewter city gym
Now look at it in Origins!
some colors were changed but it looks pretty much the same. You see it and immediatly remember you have been there
yes the ashnime thought it wasn't good enough and had to ruin the design by adding a bunch of rocks...
This is probably the most infuriating
look at the cinnabar island gym
Origins did it brilliantly again!
The same floor, the same machine, everything looks like it did in the games, it's beautifully nostalgic.
aaaand the anime ruined it again.
they literally took a massive, stinking shit on us. They decided a lab wasn't fitting for a scientist so they gave us a volcano instead. Retards.
Now this one is kinda special because Origins changed it, but it did it right, unlike the ashnime
look at the Viridian gym in the games
>I think I'll use [insert a fast mixed attacker here] in my team
>ok so I know what setup to use
>oh I almost forgot which nature will it have
>well that's easy, the only correct nature for a fast mixed attacker is:
In Origins it's a single room, but look at those nice details. The floor is the same and the walls have the same decoration.
It's pretty good
the ashnime, once again proving that it can't adapt shit decided to turn it into a bland, generic battlefield
That's another thing that makes Origins great. The battles are realistic because they aknowledge typings and types actually matter. In the ashnime charmander would have won by doing shit that cannot be done in the games
>The battles are realistic because they aknowledge typings and types actually matter
>>he didn't watch Red's battle against Geovanni or even Blue/Green
>In the ashnime charmander would have won by doing shit that cannot be done in the games
>>he didn't notice that muh friendship helped Charizard beat Blue/Green and Mewtwo
Never watched Origins, but from what you posted I think the cities look like soulless shit (even if the gyms look a little better). I say that as someone who played the originals at the height of their popularity. You know, the versions with a whopping four colors (or green and darker green if you had a brick). There is such a thing as trying to adapt the source material too closely.
Honestly, I would have preferred a manga adaptation anyway.
>I don't play video games because I'm not a child
the FUNNY thing about this FALSE statement, is that if you really were not a child NOW, it means you would have been back when pokemon on gameboy WAS the shit.
99% of video games that depict multiple villages, towns, or cities downscale everything. size of building and number of buildings.
Mega Evolution defeated M2, and you need to have high friendship levels with your pokemon in order to trigger it unless you're Rayquaza who can just do it whenever it likes.
Also incidentally the only pokemon smart enough to eat its mega stone so it frees up a slot to hold items.
Pokemon Special was early on stated by the creator to be the closest to the vision of that world. Of course it's changed a lot since then so how much that holds true now is hard to say.
>A pokemon hospital
>A pokemon supermarket
>A pokemon battling facility
>A couple of housing complexes
Looks like if you don't like pokemon you just sit in your room waiting to die. At least the ash anime portrays a world that doesn't begin and end with pokemon
In the real world there are many non animal related things to do, in the pokemon world every single activity is pokemon related, there isn't even hospitals for humans.
The first anime fixed it by making bigger cities, so it looks like there are many things to do there
