I stopped helping out translation groups because fuck them. When I volunteer my time for a specific series because I am interested in it, don't get into a pissy fit when I don't want to do other series.

Either way, I don't have a single group I call the best, but I still don't see why you're suggesting people would determine the best just primarily on what their favorite series are. There's no correlation between what groups I think are top tier and what groups do my favorite series, since things like TL quality and cleaning ability are much closer to being objective characteristics.

OP was asking which group period was the best (and proceeded to single out one of them), which is dumb because as we've agreed, there is no particular difference between "one of the best"-type groups that demonstrate fluency in all the phases of translating.
As far as favorite series go, it is down to simply people are going to read the titles they like and not read the ones they don't, and furthermore they are reading manga to, you know, read the freaking manga and not grade out scanlators on their work.
So if you ask somebody which group singular is the best, they are most likely to pick from the ones they have the most familiarity with, which means the ones they read the most, which means the manga they like the most. Which means OP's post is so much circlejerky nonsense and has been called out as such.
But yeah, there isn't much point in talking about "the best" anyway. It's nice to not suck and all, but in the end if you really like a manga you're going to read it even if the scan group isn't "the best", and if you don't care about a manga you're not going to read it even if "the best" is working on it.
I respect scan groups like CXC. Lasting for long periods of time, doing regular scans. They're like an old dependable Toyota.
