It's a really interestingly boring show, when it wants to be.
When it doesn't want to be, it's a weird show with an absurd amount of fanservice and cute girls.
Has some supernatural elements, but that's only about half of the plot. It is relevant throughout the course of the show, but most of the story comes from the various interactions between the characters.
It has a lot of character development and interaction, mixed with some humor every now and then when it's appropriate.
Nise is the worst offender in regards to fanservice, but is also the most fun. It's the season that has that one fucking toothbrush gif everyone likes to post.
It's more lighthearted and silly than the other seasons.
After that, they go back to doing what they usually do.
It's actually pretty good in my opinion, but you either fucking love the shit out of it or you don't understand what the point of the show is.

Bakemonogatari is a visually revolutionary show.

It's arguably the story with the best underlying message. The only characters that actually get anything in the way of actual plot development are Araragi, Kisshot, and Hanekawa.
