I don't think "weight" is what you're looking for. There's always a sense of preparation and recovery for the movements in the animation so weight is clearly taken into account for the motion. Probably you're thinking of impact, which would emphasize the hit on contact, but really, in that particular scene, a lack of impact makes sense since they're fighting with light weapons so your focus should be on movement rather than hitting hard. For better or worse, it feels like a sport fencing match.

That's a legitimate point but they seem to do just fine at getting discovered and getting into fights while on foot, and seeing as how one of the mecha has already been capable of being hidden underground and emerging freely, and another mecha has been shown to have already been built but casually hidden in case they needed it, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say they wouldn't have any issue avoiding detection with a mecha versus pedaling or walking.
