Anime like cinema is a visual medium, so a lot, it's a shame that most anime (like most commercials movies and tv shows I suppose) lacks of the "show don't tell" and just infodump everything.
And is also important to set up the atmosphere of the show.

Pretty much this. Given that anime and manga are part of a visual medium, the art and direction (where applicable) counts for a lot.

It's like having good choreography in a martial arts film.

Anime actually uses a lot of camera tricks. They use it a lot more than even regular television shows to the point I think they kinda overdo it.
Recently I watched the new Justice League movie and thought it was okay. I then rewatched Eureka 7 in in 5 minutes they used more camera techniques and strategic angles than in the entirety of the Justice League movie.
