So it wasn't just me who think the first arc doesn't really do the series justice. Every arc after that is more or less the same quality wise but yeah....

To me, it failed at creating the same kind of suspense Bakeneko was brimming with. Fortunately, Sea Monk came right after it and, as a sucker for thinly veiled whodunit stories, I immediately fell in love with it.
Do I have to watch Ayakashi before watching this? I tried but it starts pretty weak.

It was damn close between the lost at sea arc and that one but I just had to give the edge to Umibozu with that twist in the episode of the arc
Best part of Nue though is when the MC reveals he was trolling the dead the whole time

I liked all of them the best, but Nue was brilliant
I'm also a huge fan of Noppera-bo, whereas most people don't care for it.

Is it because Bakaneko I had lots of people actively resisting and evading the Medicine Seller's inquiries to the extent that he became injured before people spilled their guts out to him compared to later stories? If so then I'm in the same boat.

That arc was 2creepy4me. Made me think twice of sleeping on richly decorated old inns.
I enjoyed the Nue(Japanese Chimera) the most, but Bakeneko and the Inn arc are close second.
