Show just aired it's most eventful episode arguably, it comes out in like 23 hours, it got a bunch of new stuff added to it's overall packaging yesterday and never really started picking up much in the way of preorders before now when all the extras finally got settled into place like what happens with most originals. There's a very good chance. It's predicted at 3988 final right now and should spike up over the next few days with the new episode airing and it shipping on Thursday Japan time. 10K is literally impossible. It would have to go straight to #1 overall like right now and stay there unbroken till release to get 7200 pts which when added to it's total would give it something like 10,809 and that's just not happening.

Just be grateful it's 2 cour straight up. Can't help but notice this season that pretty much all the high profile shows that bothered to be more than 12 episodes have done pretty decently including Jojo which I just noticed is missing. Then there's Macross Delta which by virtue of being released a month from now is guaranteed to end up with the most stalker points for an individual volume of anything. Also the music is crazy popular, more so than even Egoists singles from Kabaneri. What are you gonna do though, they went absolutely fucking ballistic with the advertising as you said and really started piling on the extras towards the final month and you know how Japan is with limited edition stuff so it was always clear it was going to do at least okay compared to the stuff that had virtually no advertising at all. The merch still seems to be selling like crap and the show was shooting for about 6-8 times what it's predicted at right now in BD/DVD sales so I doubt it can be called much of a smash success either so much as a seasonal hit. When you have to practically bribe your fans with extras and events with popular people that worked on other hits for spending money on your product that's not exactly the same kind of popularity GuP has demonstrated either. I mean the movie sold 200K without event tickets and has been having a significant economic effect on the Oorai region and tourism. Oh if you're talking about that it's entirely possible for the first volume. After the event tickets where off though I don't know but I doubt it. It's really fucking hard to move mass quantities of a BD anymore without the right event tickets unless it really legitimately takes off in popularity like a GuP, Love Live or even Shirobako or something. Shirobako is the last show I remember to pull it off without some sort of significant commercial backing and coincidentally or not it also had the same director as GuP. Except most second seasons are preplanned and stuff can do gangbusters and still take years to get a followup if it ever does. It really doesn't factor in even as remotely close as people seem to think. Shit like Ajin can do abysmal on R2 Bluray and get a followup thanks to Netflix contracts and likewise stuff like Horizon can sell more than virtually any other surprise hit LN anime that's not already a prestablisted hit and be stuck in limbo cause of the studio having other priorities. Nothing from this season screams immediate followup pending besides maybe Jojo which I'm sure we'll see Venta Aureo out of eventually

Haifuri is a pretty bland one. Most of them mix a bit of moe and hot bloodness you might expect out of a super robot series but Aniplex really isn't good with hot blooded stuff anymore I noticed. There are the occasional flukes from when they fun Imaishi stuff but other than that it doesn't seem like it factors in to their appeals so much as hey looks cute girls and event tickets.

Then again the only ones I've kind of enjoyed are Arpeggio of Blue Steel and Girls Und Panzer or rather they were the ones that managed to be fun and not just completely insulting fare where the sole highlight is occasional fanservice.
