Honestly
Have you bought anime or manga? Why?
>buying anime
>buying manga
I did once.
Bought the Azumanga Daioh omnibus, a few volumes of Excel Saga and Yotsuba&! and the DVD set of FLCL.
Never bought anything after that, I'm poor and I don't want people to know about my chinese media addiction.

Going to buy the Vinand Saga hardcover ones on my birthday.
I have Saints Young men manga
Eden it's an endless world
some volumes of pokemon adventure
an FMA volume
and the NausicaƤ mangaAll in french
They were really cheap. I think.
It's mostly LNs, a few anime box sets, 7 volumes of the excel saga manga and my latest purchase, 2 translated Vampire Bund doujin collections.
Bought all of BLAME! for 50 cents a volume, a nearby library was getting rid of them.

Reading manga in front of your computer is trash so I buy the series which I enjoy.

I bought the fakku book does that count?
Only started recently
>>120244117
Manga a long time ago back when volume releases took fucking years.
Now I just buy nendos and elinbutts
>>120245698
I dread to think how painful Vinland Saga will be to read.
>>120244117
Once bought a volume of School Rumble in English, then many years later bought the third volume of the Love Live manga in Japan. Also bought volume 1 of Shana and TR.
>>120244117
I pre-ordered Twintail BD2 because I want a second season, or at least LN translation.
Also I sometimes buy manga. I don't think I need to explain why I do that
>>120245725
I can wait
And book 6 comes out......2017!?
>>120244165
Rich people can enjoy their animeme in a way you can't.
>Poor fags will defend this
Why? Because reading Manga is pure bliss. I like the rough feel of the pages and the smell so wonderful.
>>120245405
I'm getting a Berserk collection, my next step is to get the complete collection of Blame!
>>120245698
Oh, and THIS
last week i realised its fucking stupid to buy anime and have wasted a good few hundred on dvds
buying manga though, its much nicer to read it in a real book
Poorfags and plebs can't understand how good it is to see you collection grow day by day.
This is not even half of all I have.
>>120246680
And how long have you been doing this?
>>120246680
>that collectionApprovo.
>>120246802
Not very much, a year and some months. All the money I earn go directly to the comic book store.
>>120246818Ciao ciao!
>>120245947don't come back here only to say that they're pretty much the same
I only buy obscure artbookslike that one with yotsuba drawn into real pictures over multiple seasons
Only manga. Buying anime is too expensive and not worth it at all.
>>120244117
found a used set of captain tyler dvds for cheap. bought that. quality is nice. show is fun.
I bought Eva for some reason and I got Gankutsuou and the Animatrix for free. More importantly though, I own the Hidamari manga, and I've bought a whole bunch of LNs. Got raws of Haruhi and the last two Oregairu volumes, too.
I bought a lot of anime in the past, but now I don't bother. It seems like the prices don't change but the quality of the packaging/content deteriorates over time. I don't have much manga but I plan to buy more of it, and I buy the odd light novel volume every now and again.
>>120246680
>Area D
Good taste.
>>120244117
No. I buy OSTs instead.
>>120247391

What's so bad with buying the western version of the Initial D series? They were on sale, around 3 dollars for a brand new copy.
>>120244117
Yes, when I was young and stupid.
Because I was young and stupid.
I buy manga kind of regularly. There are a lot of newer releases of works that have never seen the light of day online (in scans or translations). On top of that I'll buy stuff that I already know I like just to have a physical copy of it.
>>120244117
I brought volumes 1-5 of Rosario Vampire. Now they just rot in a box under my bed of shame.
I import manga I really like and buy some cheap copies from my local store.
I pay full price for gundam the origin because they are fantastic though, the water coloured pages are beautiful.
>>120244117
>Have you bought anime or manga?
Yeah, I have an assortment of manga and a few anime. Most of them are from the 2000's, back when I had really shitty Internet connection so even downloading and MP3 could take hours.
I still get the occasional manga, typically they are gifted to me though.
>>120244117
To support the creators that I enjoyed, I would. But not TG:RE

I bought a bootleg daki one time.
Only anime I've ever bought has been importing all of the Love Live BDsbecause I wanted the low tier URs
I always wanted to buy some anime/manga but from what I hear it's usually a bitch to deal with.
Also the fact that guys on the internet make better releases than the official producers so
>>120249985
When you buy, you encourage the official editors to improve the quality of the products.
Bought some manga on my trip to Japan. Also have a few volumes of translated FMA.
Yes, only manga.
Mostly because of the extras that is hard to find or for the better quality.
>>120247707
its a bad idea to start collecting if you are a poor.
>>120244117
All volumes of Dragonball.
I have all volumes of 20th Century Boys and the two first volumes of Berserk.
I like to think that if I ever get a decent paying job, I'll book a trip to Japan and drop some cash to few authors' mailbox.
I bought all of Yotsuba& on a whim because it was on sale. I have Golden Boy, Dirty Pair, and a vhs of both Maison Ikkouku, and Gunsmith Cats. also some h-manga.
Just cuz
In the late 90's/early 2000's I used to regularly buy anime DVD's and VHS since their was no other way of acquiring other then going to chinatown to buy bootlegs with engrish subs. This was of course before torrents became a thing and I got a DSL line at home. I still occasionally buy a random Bluray if I can find it at a good price and is something I really really want to own
I only own the Read or Die and Read or Dream manga and DVDs.
I have all of the collectors editions for madoka magica sitting in my room, and some cheaper DVDs I've bought from video stores and whatnot.
Speaking of DVDs, a couple weeks ago I went to a store that was closing down, and they had a copy of Golgo 13, I think, that was on sale there. Should I have bought it out of anything besides personal interest?
Every time I go to Japan I buy as many volumes of 105 yen pre-owned manga as I can fit in my luggage before I go home
I own a few collections, but I only buy gintama, hellsing and MPD psycho anymore (even then it's been over a year since I bought something).
The reason for buying manga in the past was that the scans and quality of translations were really, really bad. It was easier to buy a volume (though buying it online was a hassle too, the shipping costs were high).
I only buy things I truly think are worth it anymore. I recently got the novel of welcome to the N.H.K., I already had the DVDs and I will buy the manga too. If they ever release punpun I'll get that as well, even though I've already read it.
I don't know Japanese and I've bought some untranslated manga because I liked it so much, like pic related.
