Decim did nothing wrong
Just finished death billiards, theories pls.
The masks didnt actually determine who goes where, right? That seems too straightforward.

Don't start this again.
Before the buddhist shiposters arrive:

Words 02 - Reincarnation and the Void
These are where souls that have been judged go.
Once the deceased have been judged after playing one of many games, they are escorted to two side-by-side doors, each containing a customers-only elevator leading to reincarnation or the void.
The "White Noh Mask" and the "Hannya Mask" are displayed above the elevator doors, and reveal where the souls are headed. Once the souls of the deceased have made their journey, their bodies take the form of dolls.
Those who are reincarnated may live anew in the present day, but those sent to the void are cast into the graveyard of souls.
Souls cast into the Void are left with their negative emotions and consciousness intact, and remain in nothingness for all eternity.

PUT YOUR HANDS UP

The old man probably told Decim to void him instead of the young dude.
No clue if Decim felt sorry enough for the cucker to actually do it.
>>120069559
If the mask show who is going where then why did the old man go to the void?
And more to the point, why was that bitch asking Decim where they went if she can just look at the masks above the elavator. Also I might remember it wrong, but the masks were reversed for the 2 pairs so far, in Billiards the good mask was on the right and in the Darts the good mask was on the left.

>Souls cast into the Void are left with their negative emotions and consciousness intact, and remain in nothingness for all eternity.
A destiny worse than death itself.
Being judges does only happen for those neither being sent to heaven or hell, right? Otherwise each soul would eventually end up in the void.
So hime-cut girl has no name, so they'll just call her onna? That's kinda bullshit (and rude)

>If the mask show who is going where then why did the old man go to the void?
Well, it was implied during the flashback that he did some shady things during his youth, and his KEIKAKU DOORI grin when getting into the elevator didn't help.
Alternative he could have asked for the other guy to get spared when he talked to Decim after the game ended.
In Buddhist tradition, escaping the cycles of karma/reincarnation is the ultimate goal.

holy shit
>>120069887
If you are judged by the actions of your past, then what is the point of the whole bar-game thing? Because the old man "won" that but he was still sent to the void.
In general the idea for the show is retarded. The whole "being judged when you die to show if you were good enough" thing both in christianity and older religions that share this feature is based on the belief that the dude doing the judging is a god or in some way very superior in everyway to even the smartest/wisest/fairest of humans.
But here we see that the arbiters are even more retarded than humans and shitty judges of character/morality/whatever.

Nothing to do with this show

True, but at the same time there's also a tradition for creatures in mythology being either mentally immature or borderline autistic. See: Greek gods and Christian angels.
>>120070804
Well in Greek beliefs you weren't judged by the Pantheon gods, everyone just went to the underworld to be the little bitches of Hades.
Same with Shinto.
The only old religion with a judging system that comes to mind is the ancient Egyptian one, with the whole "weighing of the heart" thing and that was done by comparing the dead to Ma'at who wasn't an asshole retard god like the ancient Greek ones. She was absolute law, truth and justice, no mistakes, no retards calling the shots.

>post modern memeing memes
This needs to stop
>>120069699
I'm going to guess because the young man clearly showed more will to live, and while he did some bad things, he obviously wanted to make up for them, rather than the old man who had learned to live with his faults
>>120070311
Yes,but he didn't do it on purpose. Everyone can be wrong, especially when he's tricked.
>>120071626
It's his job to see through that.

>putting a guy who cannot comprehend human emotions in charge of judging human souls.
I wonder just how many people he wrongfully sent to the void before they assigned the woman as his assistant.
