According to research it's possible for an asteroid to have a light gravitational field, but it would have to be the size of a small planet and not a piece of debris. Even then, it's ability to "bend" a projectile as small as a bullet, traveling at an incredible speed would be impossible. The type of instantaneous bending they are describing would require an incredibly dense planetoid or star.
