So just now on my commute Hanekawa's theme song came on and I had this flood of feels about her. I've watched monogataris like several times and never gave a fuck about her. But for whatever reason today I really listened to the lyrics and it's just so sad...and then I thought about Koyomi turning her down. Well fuck.

Well, chronologically it happened in a fairly short period of time before school started, when he met Gahara. I consider it to be a reasonable amount of time for her to figure out how to ask out the Araragi. Additionally, Araragi is dense and did not think that she liked him despite the gym storage room shenanigans.
In any case, I think that she lost fair and square, but I don't really fault her for her pussyfooting. Araragi was at least equally as pathetic, and got lucky with Gahara.
