Here's food for thought to make USN shipgirls contrast harder against their IJN counterparts...
A fair amount would be in the image of the Lone Ranger or Golden Age superheroes. So domino masks and cowls perhaps?
As for USN CAs and BBs, they'd have their main guns arranged to a deck and held with two hands like a giant bazooka. A lot like Furutaka except instead of a cyborg arm it's a "more accurate" bazooka. So, 'zook of main guns on the right, and a clusterfuck of radars and FCS on the left. Contrast this to the slowass rotating turret things of the IJN BBs.
Some of them USN shipgirls would hold them at waist level, kinda referencing Vasquez and her smartgun from Aliens. Some CVs would have the Lone Ranger look with oversized revolvers or break-action rifles launching planes.
Iowa of course, after post-war refit version would be carrying a nuclear bazooka, and huge fuckoff themed-shield in the other arm. Damaged sprite is her doing the Vault Boy thumbs up pose, smoked out in the Chuck Jones/Tex Avery cartoon style.

It can't be anyone but Yukikaze since Isokaze, Hamakaze, Asashimo, and Kasumi were sunk in the battle, Fuyutsuki and Suzutsuki are not in the game yet(High luck Akizuki class when?) , and Hatsushimo did not survive the war.
